Located in Beautiful Downtown Kensington MD, the K-Town Pickle Works is NOT a commercial pickle factory, just a home pickler who wishes to share information about pickling, recipes, pickle pictures, and random thoughts.
We’ll have a recipes page, topics in pickling page, a page devoted to pickle images, and the like. We invite you to send us any pickle recipes or ideas you have. The good news is that we’ll likely publish it and acknowledge you. The bad news is that we’re not paying you any money for your ideas.
When I was growing up my mother raised tomatoes in a small garden by the driveway. At the end of the season, she collected all the green tomatoes that were not going to ripen and pickled them. I remember their taste vividly, like Proust’s Madeleine. Decades later, I tried to recreate her tomatoes. I have never been successful. Each year I try and maybe I get a bit better, but never as good as Mom’s.
